  Joy has a sense of community that I haven’t felt at any other church that I have attended. On any given Sunday, I see children sitting with other families, youth asking to serve in worship, and adults engaged with each other. We were on the receiving end of this community when my young son broke his leg and the congregation coordinated meals for our family so we could focus on caring for him. There are great activities for children and families, including their big Trunk or Treat every October and a part in the service for kids every Sunday. At Joy, people love God and love each other. I have felt welcomed since the first day I arrived five years ago and encourage anybody looking for a church home to visit Joy.

  If you are looking for a small to mid-sized Lutheran congregation (about 145 in attendance on a Sunday), visit Joy Lutheran. The people are welcoming, the building is beautiful, and they are a multi-generational church that values youth, community outreach, and a feeling of community.
  
  The congregation is a leader in the Tulsa community when it comes to caring for creation (the first and-to date only-congregation to generate solar power), and it has an outstanding music program with opportunities for musicians of all ages. Their "grandbuddy" program connects youth and adults in the congregation to provide Christian mentors, and there is Christian Education for all ages all year long.

  Joy is place of friends, fellowship, and faith. I enjoy the music and worship lead by Pastor Nathan. It is small but not too small.

  We had been members at Joy for 19 years but recently decided to leave. Membership and attendance is declining and leadership is in transition.
